August 8, 1949 – December 24, 2019
After a valiant, warrior-worthy fight against cancer, it is with profoundly heavy hearts our dearly loved Joan (Peanut) passed peacefully on December 24th, surrounded by her cherished, beloved husband Michael, precious daughter Jessica and sisters Jeannette Hawkes (Douglas) and Susan Petticrew who loved her dearly. Joan was deeply loved by Michael Wilson Jr. and her four-legged companions Bailey and Molly Wilson. Joan is predeceased by her Mother Doris and Father Anthony Joseph Petticrew along with her dear sister Judith Anne Mason.
Joan began her extremely successful career in the legal field, where she was profoundly admired for being a meticulous and consummate professional. In Vancouver, Joan established her own successful company, building strong relationships while securing enduring respect from all who knew her.
Equally in her personal life, one didn’t need to request help more than once, for Joan would be by your side offering compassion and a genuine need to resolve.
Joan was a gentle loving soul touching the hearts of everyone she knew and loved by many of Jessica’s friends.
Joan’s empathy and loyalty will not be forgotten ever for we will remember our shining star and cheerleader who radiated a beautiful energy, passion and determined spirit.
She loved her husband Michael who brought tremendous happiness to her world along with Jessica who provided her with a heart overflowing with gratitude and love.
Joan will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. In God’s Care until we meet again.
Holy Mass is to take place at a later date at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hastings, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Foundation would be deeply appreciated.
