Obituary for Sherry Chrystal Willene Dolyny

July 4, 1948 – November 30, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Sherry Chrystal Willene Dolyny (nee Woods) passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2019, with her daughter, Tonya, and companion, Ed by her side.

Sherry was born and raised in Carman, Manitoba by her parents Robert Woods & Janet (nee Livingstone) Woods, along with her brothers Lawrence (Larry) & Fredrick (Freddy). Sherry lived in Winnipeg, MB, Fort Frances, ON, Calgary, AB on her travels out to Vancouver, BC.

Sherry worked as a dental assistant, sold Fashion Two Twenty cosmetics, lingerie and finally as a law firm receptionist until her retirement. Sherry loved to travel and was able to enjoy many adventures around the world finding her ultimate “Happy Place” in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with Ed by her side.

Sherry’s love of animals started at a young age with cats, dogs and two pet foxes, “Sugar and Charlie”, among many others. Her love of animals continued with many pets over the years (Frankie, Lady Lola, Agador Spartacus to name a few) and her “grand puppy and kittlets” (Jimmy, Carman, Finn, Runty-Bean, Kaleidoscope and Lucy) as well.

Sherry loved to spend time with her friends, some who she knew since childhood and many more made throughout the years. Sherry had a welcoming smile, always a kind word, a generous spirit and a warm hug for everyone she met.

Sherry loved to spend time with her beloved daughter, Tonya, talking, singing, dancing, driving, exploring, walking, going to concerts, listening to the rain while sitting on the porch or anything that had the two of them together.

Sherry treasured all of the many people whose paths crossed with hers over the years. Know that every time you reached out to her she was grateful for that love.

Sherry is predeceased by her father, Robert, her mother, Janet, and her brother, Freddy. She will be greatly missed by her friends and remaining family but most of all by her daughter Tonya and companion Edward.

Sherry has been cremated and an informal Celebration of Life will be held in 2020. The date is still to be determined (possibly Easter weekend).

Thank you to everyone for the love shared with my Mom, Sherry, over the years and now for the love that you continue to share with Ed and myself.
